Bilingual Education
__Bilingual education is the study of two different languages and being able to use them fluently. It is
important to me. I have been a bilingual student since I first came to the United States years ago. It
helps me at school and it will help me in the future.
__Bilingual education helps me a lot. It helps me in some subjects at school, for example, science
and global. Bilingual education helps me to understand the class, the teachers usually copy the notes
on the board using English, and explain to us in my native language. That helps me to learn English
faster and to keep my native language in memory, so that's better for both my native language and
English. That makes me not to forget my native language. When I first came to the United States, I
couldn't speak any English, not even the alphabet, but with bilingual education I am getting to know
about English, I learned from the very beginning with the very easy words, like, A for Apple, B for
Boy With the teacher's explanation in my native language, my English was getting better and better
each day. Before, I couldn't even ask the teachers where the bathroom was. I only had friends from
China, I wanted to make friends from other countries, but I couldn't communicate with them.
Bilingual education lets everyone in the United States speak English, so I can communicate with
them, and make more friends. Bilingual education helped me before, it is still helping me now, and it
will help me in the future. With bilingual education, I am able to speak two languages, and it will be
easier for me to find a job in the future. For example, as a salesperson, I can communicate with the
customers from different countries. Maybe I will be a bilingual teacher to teach new immigrants from
my native country, I will transfer my knowledge to them, tread them the way bilingual education has
treated me.
__Bilingual education is very important to me. It has helped me in any places and at any time.
Because of it, I can learn English faster and with more comprehension, it lets me have the right to
speak with people from different nationalities. In a word, it helped me in many ways. I am here to
say "Thank You" to it! I hope it will continue to help more students.
